Team – Gavin

Gavin Sathianathan is a recognised advocate for the European cannabis industry. Gavin is the CEO of Alta Flora, a decentralised clinical trial platform focused on novel therapeutics including plant based organic medicines. He is also co-founder of Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies (CT), a bio-pharmaceutical business established in conjunction with the University of Oxford.

Gavin has been an advisor to the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on organic plant based medicines, regularly works with investors on the evolution of the organic plant based medicine market and has advised multiple public companies. He was profiled in The Times of London as “Britain’s Organic Medicine Capitalist” and named as “organic medicine magnate” by The Spectator.

Gavin started his career at Bain & Company, spending four years in the London office before moving to Delhi as part of the founding team of Bain’s Indian operation. He then pursued
a career in the digital media industry, initially in content creation at Endemol before joining Facebook in Europe as one of the early team members to grow the business ahead of the IPO, He was also Managing Director at Tesco, focused on technology, data and digital media.

Gavin has a degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London, and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was a Sainsbury’s Management Fellow.
